The Security Institute is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Cabinet Office Government Security Profession, marking the beginning of a collaborative partnership to support the development, visibility, accessibility and professionalisation of the security profession across the United Kingdom.
The agreement brings together two organisations with a shared commitment to strengthening the security profession by creating clearer career pathways, promoting professional standards, and encouraging greater collaboration across government, industry and academia.
Through the partnership, The Security Institute and the Cabinet Office Government Security Profession will work together in several key areas of mutual interest, including early careers engagement, talent pipeline development, professional standards, outreach initiatives, and cross-sector collaboration.
Partnership Objectives
The Memorandum of Understanding sets out a number of shared objectives, including:
• Promoting security as an inclusive and accessible profession for people from all backgrounds.
• Supporting early careers professionals, career changers, and those transitioning from public service into the wider security profession.
• Raising awareness of the diverse career pathways available across government, industry and academia.
• Strengthening collaboration between public and private sector security communities.
• Supporting the development of professional standards, competency frameworks and best practice.
• Promoting apprenticeships, careers events, webinars, educational initiatives and wider outreach activities.
By combining expertise and resources, the partnership aims to help develop a highly skilled, diverse and resilient security workforce equipped to meet the evolving challenges facing the UK.
