‘The First Contact – CBRNE and the Frontline’

Event Overview

Recognising, Assessing and Reacting to Hazardous Substances.

From acid attacks and chlorine leaks to deliberate chemical releases, incidents involving hazardous substances are becoming increasingly common. Whether accidental or malicious, these events present serious risks to responders, healthcare staff, and the public. Would you and your team know how to recognise the danger signs and respond safely and effectively?

Speaker

This webinar is delivered by Carl Cooper, a highly experienced Tactical Incident Commander with over 20 years’ service in an NHS Ambulance Trust, responding to significant and complex incidents across the West Midlands conurbation. Carl brings extensive operational and strategic expertise, supported by advanced qualifications including an MSc in Emergency Planning, Resilience and Response (Distinction). He has completed specialist training in CBRN, NILO, JESIP, NARU/ECU, multi-agency command (Gold and Strategic levels), radiation protection, and flood and water incident management. Carl is also a Director at Prepare Plan Protect, specialists in emergency planning.

The session will focus on helping attendees to:

  • Recognise potential chemical, biological and radiological hazards
