        Occupation:
        •  City of London Corporation – Strategic Director of Security and
            Counter Terrorism Advisor.
        •  English Football Association – Crowd Security Adviser.


        Security, Board Director and Other Relevant Experience:
        •  Richard served within the Metropolitan and City of London Police.
            Retired 2017 as Commander Operations, with strategic lead for
            Counter Terrorism, Security and Operations.
        •  Strategic Director Security and Counter Terrorism Advisor, reports directly to the Chief
            Executive and City Strategic Security Board. He works closely with Central and Local
            Governments.
        •  Strategic lead for high-profile security operations, vulnerability assessments and mitigation
            across the City of London Corporation.
        •  He advises Football teams, Stadia and Police across Europe on crowd safety and security
        •  In addition to suppoting organisations including: Cross-Sector Safety & Security
            Communications (CSSC), the City of London Crime Prevention Association (CoLCPA), the
            Global Terrorist Information Network (TINYg) and the City Security Council.

        Date of Joining the Institute: 2015

        Previous Security Institute Involvement:
        He has been a Director for the last three years, sits on both Audit and Ethics Committees.
        Active in engagement and profiling the Institute across multiple sectors. He was a panel judge
        on this years OSPA’s, and is a member of the Interview Accessors Panel for Chartered Security
        Professionals.

        Richard has attended conferences and social events since joining, introducing many new
        colleagues to the Institute.

        Areas of Interest in the Institute:
        •  Development of new membership, especially supporting the next generation of security
            professionals.
        •  Protective Security and grey space, especially co-ordination, Local Authorities and stakeholder
            engagement
        •  Professionalising Accreditation and quality assurance on who can, and quality of advice given
            across vulnerability assessments
        •  Leadership within the Security Sector.
        •  Strategic development
        •  Standards development
        •  Raising the profile of the Institute, both domestically and on the international stage

        Personal Comment:
        I am committed to support the continual development of this outstanding Institute, its members
        and future members. I passionately believe in supporting the future generations and promoting
        the UK security as an exemplar of professionalism across the Globe. This is something I did with
        UK policing and am doing so now in other roles.
