Ashley Watson MSyI

Security and Risk Manager

Security, Board Director and Other Relevant Experience:
Ashley’s background is in Security Engineering, and the first half of his
career was in security systems installation, project management and
engineering before moving into security management.

Ashley is currently the Security and Risk Manager for a global financial data provider with
over 100 offices globally and one of his previous roles include being the physical security and
technology lead for a CNI organisation.

Date of Joining the Institute: 2018

Previous Security Institute Involvement:
Ashley has been involved with the Institute’s Next Generation in Security Initiative, and most
recently supported the ‘Secure Futures’ programme where he have given presentations and talks
around his journey in the security industry so far.

Areas of Interest in the Institute:
• Counter Terrorism
• Critical National Infrastructure
• Cyber and Convergence Special Interest Group
• Integrated Security
• Security Education and Training
• Involved in the Next Generation in Security Initiative

Personal Comment:
If I was elected, I want to engage with the membership and represent the security careerists at
Board level something I feel is under represented.

I also want to promote standards and good practice from a physical security perspective and give
other careerists a hope they can achieve more.
