The 60-minute kidnap overview briefing provides an insight to participants how to manage a kidnap-for-ransom incident.

The learning includes:

·       A review of strategic decisions upon which the business’s policies can be based.

Speakers:

Fiona McCormack BEM MSc – Director

Fiona McCormack is a Director in Control Risks’ Security Risk Consulting business, where she leads the delivery of crisis and security consulting services to clients across Europe and Africa. With over three decades of experience in high-stakes law enforcement and crisis management, Fiona brings strategic insight and operational expertise to both corporate and government clients facing complex security challenges.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Fiona served for 31 years with the Metropolitan Police Service in London, where she held a range of senior leadership roles.

 

Fiona is a qualified hostage negotiator, senior investigating officer, and senior identification manager. She has advised FTSE 250 companies and international governments on crisis management, terrorism, and anti-corruption investigations, and continues to deliver bespoke training and strategic guidance across multiple sectors.

Cormac Healy MA –  Senior Consultant

Cormac is a Senior Consultant in the Security Risk Consulting business. He delivers consulting support to Control Risks’ clients across Europe, Africa and APAC, advising on crisis and security management, kidnap and extortion response and critical-incident preparedness.

Prior to joining Control Risks, Cormac served for over 13 years with the Metropolitan Police Service in London, leading operational teams across counter-terrorism, serious and organised crime, kidnap and extortion, and major-incident response. He held senior leadership roles spanning tactical command, operational delivery and organisation-wide risk management, responding to terrorist attacks, investigating international terrorist organisations and hostile state activity, and leading crisis response to high-risk, time-critical incidents.

Cormac holds a Masters degree in Policing and Criminal Justice from Canterbury Christ Church University and a BA from the University of Exeter. He is a nationally trained kidnap, hostage and crisis negotiator, with extensive experience supporting counter-terrorism operations, crisis response and sensitive investigations in environments of heightened political and reputational risk.
