The Security Institute wishes to clarify its current position in relation to commercial services and products associated with the forthcoming legislation commonly referred to as ‘Martyn’s Law’ (the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025). At this time, the Institute does not endorse, approve, or recommend any specific training providers, consultancy services, products, or platforms that claim to support compliance with or preparation for the requirements of Martyn’s Law.

We are aware of a growing number of organisations and individuals marketing services or tools as being aligned with or tailored to Martyn’s Law. While it is possible that some may offer valuable contributions to the security community, it is important to emphasise that the legislative process is ongoing, and the final form and implementation details of the Bill have not yet been confirmed. As such, businesses and organisations should exercise caution when evaluating such offerings.

The Security Institute strongly advises that the most reliable and authoritative sources of information on Martyn’s Law and related protective security measures remain PROTECT UK and the National Protective Security Authority (NPSA). These platforms provide government-endorsed guidance and updates that reflect the latest thinking, policy direction, and best practice in protective security and counter-terrorism preparedness.

We encourage all professionals and organisations with responsibilities for public safety and security to stay informed through these official channels, and to be wary of any claims that imply government approval or alignment without clear evidence. The Security Institute is committed to supporting its members and the wider community by providing impartial guidance, access to credible information, and fostering informed debate as the legislation progresses, as can be seen through robust discussions carried out in our Special Interest Groups.

However, given the current stage of the bill, it would be remiss of the Institute to condone or endorse any prescriptive solutions at this time. As the situation evolves, the Institute will continue to monitor developments closely and will issue further guidance or recommendations as appropriate. Our commitment remains to uphold the highest standards of professional integrity and to support our members and stakeholders in navigating the complex and sensitive issues surrounding Martyn’s Law, and indeed other legislation changes.
