About the Role

Sibylline is looking for an early to mid-career Intelligence professional to join a dedicated team of analysts spread across the USA, UK, and Asia in an embedded role within a client’s security team. Based in New York City or London the successful candidate will provide tailored strategic and protective intelligence analysis as part of a tight-knit operation providing actionable intelligence and advice to decision-makers.

The successful candidate will gather timely and accurate information/intelligence on threats and risks to personnel, assets, and reputation globally. They must have the capability to detect, analyse, and advise on adverse conditions that could affect security, operational continuity, and reputation globally. As such, they must be adaptable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, and demonstrate analytical skills with the ability to skilfully conceptualise and synthesize disparate information. The role requires the candidate to have knowledge in online investigation (OSINT) and social media intelligence (SOCMINT) research and techniques.

Applicants to this role require the ability to research and analyse a wide range of information and create insightful analysis in accordance with strict deadlines, including presenting and incorporating relevant data and visualisation.

The successful candidate can expect to work during standard business hours, with the occasional out-of-hours work for emergencies and time-sensitive matters. Candidates will benefit from a flexible hybrid working environment (combination of remote working and time spent in both client and Sibylline offices). Candidates must be self-starters and able to hit the ground running, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a global team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Quickly establish and respond to the client team’s intelligence and investigation requirements.
  • Provides support to the Strategic Intelligence functions through the collection of intelligence requirements.
  • Provide credible, timely, and actionable intelligence to support investigations that assists business decision-makers.
  • Identify, investigate and manage security incidents involving the client and partnership organizations.
  • Utilise all available resources – including open sources, vendor feeds, and Sibylline’s service offerings – to create a range of tailored products that provide high-impact, actionable analysis, and recommendations for the client business.
  • Deliver on-demand intelligence products to enable the business to forecast any tactical and strategic risks.
  • Provide ad hoc geopolitical analysis and investigation reports in response to business needs.
  • Conduct briefingsas needed for a variety of levels of customers as requested (via phone, video conference, in-person briefing, or industry conference).
  • Support investigations through the collection of intelligence related to threats originating from external sources outside the company, as well as internal incidents and issues affecting the client’s employees, customers, facilities, and/or brand.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Minimum

  • Bachelor’s degree in Security Studies, International Relations, Law, Journalism, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field.
  • 3-7 years of relevant professional experience in geopolitical / security risk analysis.
  • Broad knowledge of current events and world affairs and ability to rapidly digest, evaluate and “sift” large quantities of information.
  • Strong analysis, research, and organisational skills with the ability to produce quality finished intelligence products for short deadlines and ad-hoc reports.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize assignments and maintain composure under pressure. 
  • Inclination to work in a process-driven environment, striving for consistency and conformity in methodology and output.
  • Must be adaptable in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated interest in OSINT and research skills, with the ability to quickly assess the capability, intent, and proximity of threat actors using little information.
  • Strong writing and public speaking skills (fluency in English is required)
  • Ability to quickly determine how security events and crises impact business operations.
  • Ability to manipulate and visualize data using a variety of data visualization tools.
  • High-level competency with MS Office tools.
  • Data analysis experience and familiarity with associated tools/software; and
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK and or the USA.

Preferred

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or above) in a related field.
  • Cross-functional experience within a global security team (e.g., threat monitoring, travel security, business continuity, and crisis management).
  • Previous exposure to protective or executive protection and or previous experience in a protective intelligence role.
  • Familiarity with Dataminr and or any similar event and risk detections tools
  • High competency in Tableau and Power BI for data visualisation
  • A strong personal network of subject matter experts.
  • Familiarity with tools or techniques that support the analysis of geospatial data through visualisation.

The role


As the Security Operations Manager you will support the delivery of DeepMind’s 24-hour global security operation, which manages risks to our people, research, and business operations, including our London headquarters and DeepMind’s international activities.You will work closely with Alphabet security to ensure DeepMind’s security operation is at the forefront of innovation and practice.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the day-to-day security of DeepMind’s people and mitigating risks to their safety and security
  • Support the day-to-day physical and technical security of DeepMind’s London headquarters and its international offices
  • Support DeepMind’s global activities, from international travel to attendance at conferences
  • Implement and deliver Alphabet and DeepMind security policies and procedures

Physical Security Advisor (PSA) – London

This is a Permanent Full-Time role in London.

Duties/responsibilities/accountabilities/deliverables

Apply CPNI methodology to revise and improve physical security across the DHSC estate, to include expertise in: Protective Security Management Systems, Assessment of threat, risk & harm. Development of operational requirements & implementation of approved recommendations.

Assess and manage current threats to the DHSC Physical assets and staff.

Maintain and develop internal and external stakeholder relations.
