The Security Institute is keen to promote personal development through education and qualifications. It has developed the award-winning Certificate in Security Management, Diploma in Security Management and Advanced Diploma in Security Management all fully accredited and available by distance learning. When you start studying you will be eligible to receive FREE Student Membership of the Institute. These Security Institute qualifications are offered by Perpetuity Training, the Institute's education partner.

The Certificate is designed for anyone relatively new to security wanting to study for a recognised qualification. It should take 6 months to complete, and comprises 3 compulsory and 3 selected modules.

The Diploma is for those who want to consolidate their professional experience and improve their career progression. The qualification should take 12 months to complete, and comprises 5 modules each of which require two pieces of work to be assessed.

Bucks New University allows Diploma holders 80 credits towards the BA (Hons) in Security Consultancy. In addition, we can consider your workplace learning and experience – for more details on making your existing qualifications count, email advice@bucks.ac.uk

The University of Portsmouth

The University of Portsmouth allows Diploma holders 80 credits towards the BSc (Hons) in Security and Risk Management degree. In addition, your workplace based learning may be worth up to a further 40 credits. You need 360 credits in total for the BSc.

The University of Leicester allows Diploma holders to save 25% off the Foundation Degree in Security and Risk Management course fee. You will also be exempt from modules 1, 2 and 9 of this 12-module course, and can move onto a full BA in the final year. Free student membership of the Institute is also included.
