SUMMARY:Counter Terrorism Special Interest Group & NaCTSO Presents : Local Approach Briefing
DESCRIPTION:🗓 Date: Wednesday\, 19 November 2025 \n⏰Time: 10:00 – 11:00 BST \nThe National Counter Terrorism Security Office (NaCTSO) has recently launched ACT for Local Authorities\, a key component of the Local Approach to Venues and Public Spaces. This initiative is designed to support local government partners in embedding counter terrorism considerations into their routine operations. \nAs security professionals—particularly those involved in the management of venues and public spaces—we frequently engage with Local Authorities. This initiative aims to equip Local Authorities with access to the most relevant and up-to-date information to help integrate counter terrorism awareness into areas such as Planning & Development\, Transport & Highways\, Emergency Planning\, Community Safety\, and Licensing. It is expected to have a direct impact on our work and the organisations we represent. \nWe are pleased to welcome Detective Sergeant Alex Ward\, who led the development of this initiative through her role at NaCTSO\, working closely with the Venues and Public Spaces teams. Alex will provide insights into the programme’s objectives and its implications for public safety and security. \n  \n  \n  \n📅 ** only Available to SyI members **\n📌For further details\, contact the CTSIG on the Community Platform. \n  \n
