The Security Institute can support your career development throughout your working life in a number of ways, from the time you first choose to join the security sector.

Influence others

With experience and knowledge comes the opportunity to put something back into the sector. You could

  • Join one of the Working Groups (for instance, on Good Practice Guides, or projects launched by the Validation, Academic or Standards Boards).
  • Contribute articles for the Knowledge Centre or Cyber Centre, or for one of the many trade press or websites we work with
  • Prepare and deliver presentations at Institute Events, or or at events staged by our exhibition partners
  • Offer help and advice on a one-to-one basis with the Mentoring Scheme
  • Represent the Security Institute on external committees and working groups, becoming an Institute lead or supporter in a particular security skill or craft as part of the Standards Board
  • Apply to the Register of Chartered Security Professionals
