Application Form for Membership
Please remember the following points when applying for membership of the Security Institute:
- Enclose as much proof as possible of the qualifications and training you have undertaken - this will ensure the correct grading levels can be awarded
- You will be invoiced for the joining fee and first year subscription once your membership grade has been confirmed. The joining fee is currently £95, and annual subscription fees depend on grade of membership (£50, £110, £135 or £160).
- The fee for Revalidation is £50. Annual subscriptions will continue to be due on your normal renewal month.
- You can pay by cheque, BACS, credit or debit card. We do not operate a direct debit scheme.
- The application process usually takes around 6-8 weeks to complete, although Validation Boards are convened each month
- You are welcome to attend member events whilst you are waiting for your application to be processed. If a fee is payable, you will be charged at members' rates.
- You will be added to the global email distribution lists whilst your application is being processed, so you can be kept informed of all special offers and news about the Institute.
- Applications can be submitted by email - we need original signatures on the Application Form before we will proceed.
If you are short of time, and confident there will be enough information to allow grading, you can submit your CV in place of Sections 2, 3, 4 and 5 of the Application Form. However, if accurate grading is important to you, then we strongly recommend you complete all sections of the Application Form. The information requested on the form is seldom covered in enough detail on a CV.
You will also need to provide your home details to allow vetting during the application process.
