21.08.07 : SyI and IISec confirm Merger Talks
SyI/IISec in Merger Talks"
As part of their ongoing commitment concerning a closer affiliation, the Security Institute (SyI) and the International Institute of Security (IISec) have set up a number of joint Working Groups comprising senior representatives of both organizations, to examine in detail the various issues involved in a possible merger.
Details of the Working Groups have been sent to the membership of both organizations, so that members can contribute their own ideas and raise any matters for consideration.
The planned outcome will be a set of consolidated proposals to be considered by the two Boards of Directors, prior to circulating full and detailed proposals to the respective memberships. It is hoped that the recommendations will be completed and the outcome known by the end of 2007.
A merger would reinforce and consolidate the considerable synergy that exists between the two organisations, and the Working Groups will also identify ways of exploiting their combined strengths going forward.
