Professional Development is a cornerstone of the Security Institute’s overall aims and objectives for its members. Consequently we are keen to support this process by providing as much information as possible about the diverse ways of achieving individual professional development, and advancement within the security sector.
These pages provide access to a wide range of organisations and sources of professional development. You may wish to further your individual professional development by studying for an academic security qualification, or possibly attend professional courses with or without examinations, or simply take a vocational or practical course.

Many of the Institute's members have either undertaken study with the organisations listed, or are themselves training providers, visiting lecturers and/or external markers. If you are considering any form of academic study, we can put you in touch with former students for real "hands on" feedback on the benefits gained, and challenges encountered.
