How to Join

Now with over 8 years experience, the Security Institute must surely be one of the fastest-growing organisations for Security Professionals in the UK.

Membership is for individuals not companies, and offers a range of benefits. Employers also agree that membership of the Security Institute provides confidence when chosing applicants for security positions. All applications to join the Security Institute are considered in depth by the Validation Board, who are appointed by the Board of Directors.

Our team of highly skilled professionals consider the nature and extent of the applicant's experience and determines the validity of qualifications. The Validation Board then recommends each applicant to an appropriate category of membership, for consideration and approval by the Board.

Benefits of Membership

There are many benefits of becoming a member - both to the individual, and to employers. These include benchmarking, networking, access to information, and a range of specially negotiated discounts.

Grades of Membership

We have 3 levels of membership that are awarded by the Board of the Security Institute. In addition, people not directly in the security profession but who work closely with it (such as editors of trade press, specialist recruitment agencies etc.) may qualify as Affiliates.

The Validation Process

All applications to join the Security Institute are considered in depth by the Validation Board. Appointed by the Board of Directors, this team of highly skilled professionals considers the nature and extent of the applicant's experience and determines the validity of qualifications. It then recommends each applicant to an appropriate category of membership, for consideration and approval by the Main Board.
